Project manager

A leading energy organisation in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Manager, Project Delivery – Renewables to oversee large-scale renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project management leadership experience in the energy sector, with expertise in utility-scale solar PV projects and exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 8+ years of project management leadership experience in the energy sector.

Strong experience in utilities and/or EPC contractor environments.

Proven track record delivering large-scale 500MW+ solar PV power projects.

Exposure to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Experience managing multiple projects during the construction and delivery phases.

Previous management experience with an EPC contractor or Independent Power Producer (IPP).

Strong knowledge of HSE, contract management, claims, project scheduling, and risk management.

Preferred: 10+ years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree or professional certification, and GCC renewable energy project experience.

Key Responsibilities

Lead project execution, monitoring, and delivery performance.

Oversee EPC contractors, project schedules, budgets, HSE compliance, and contractual obligations.

Identify and manage project risks, delays, technical deviations, and cost optimisation opportunities.

Coordinate with technical teams, asset management, project companies, and key stakeholders.

Monitor project reports and provide updates to senior management.

Conduct site visits and ensure projects are ready for operational handover.

Drive continuous improvement and share best practices across the project portfolio.
